Stability under seismic influence

Earthquakes are among the greatest global challenges for the safety of structures. Existing buildings constructed before the introduction of modern earthquake standards are particularly vulnerable, as they are often unable to withstand seismic loads. This raises an urgent question: how can such buildings be retrofitted to improve their earthquake resistance? Unternehmensgruppe fischer and Purdue University (USA) carried out full-scale tests on reinforced concrete structures. These tests enabled the definition of new approaches for the seismic retrofitting of existing buildings.

Construction Robots Are Shaping the Workplaces of Tomorrow

Frankfurt continues to reach for the sky. Despite the rise of remote working and increasing office vacancy rates, new office buildings are still being constructed across Germany, particularly in economically strong regions. The reason: companies are placing greater demands on modern, sustainable and flexible workspaces, require-ments that many older buildings can no longer meet. Just a few metres from Frankfurt Exhibition Centre, a new office building is currently under construction. Two fischer construction robots are drilling holes fully autonomously into the concrete ceilings to install heating and cooling ceiling panels using fischer EA II hammerset anchors. This increases precision, efficiency, and occupational safety during installation while accelerating overall construction progress.
