Ten years of BIM World – and fischer is right at the center of it. The fastening specialist has been exhibiting at the industry congress without interruption since 2020. When the expert community gathers at the ICM (International Congress Center Munich) on November 24 and 25, 2026, fischer will be showcasing an end-to-end digital process at Stand 26 in the foyer – spanning from BIM planning and execution all the way to facility operations. Across multiple trades, these solutions unite the core competencies of the corporate group: innovative fastening systems, sensor-integrated products, digital services, and advanced electronics development.

The BIM World MUNICH congress serves as a premier hub for architects, structural engineers, BIM managers, general contractors, infrastructure operators, facility managers, and key decision-makers across industry, the energy sector, and public authorities. Here, fischer demonstrates to the professional audience how digitally connected fastening technology operates throughout the complete building life cycle today.

With Siemens: Structural Health Monitoring and Building X
Together with Siemens, fischer is presenting an integrated end-to-end solution ranging from intelligent fastening points to digital building operations. This partnership blends fischer’s fastening expertise with Siemens’ digitalization and IoT leadership to deliver measurable added value for operators, planners, and infrastructure managers.

Both companies will showcase collaborative IoT and monitoring solutions. The fischer SensorBolt – a metric bolt featuring integrated sensor technology – alongside other sensor-equipped fischer fastening systems, continuously measures preload forces, temperatures, and load conditions in real time. This data is transmitted directly into the cloud-based IoT platform Siemens Building X. Key applications include digital twins, predictive maintenance, and seamless structural health monitoring – especially for safety-critical infrastructure assets and large-scale buildings.

“Together with Siemens, we are connecting fastening technology, sensor systems, BIM, and building operations into an end-to-end digital process for the very first time. In doing so, fastening points evolve into active data providers within the digital twin,” says Dr. Matthias Bruhnke, Head of fischer Construction Engineering GmbH.

Under the banner of “Integrated Structural Health Monitoring,” specialists from fischer and Siemens Smart Infrastructure will demonstrate how this IoT innovation bridges the gap between physical fastening hardware and digital building operations. They will illustrate how supporting structures and installation brackets can be monitored based on real-time data, and how these measurements seamlessly integrate into digital building information models. For facility operators, this translates into fewer unplanned downtimes, reduced life cycle costs, and seamless compliance tracking. The collaboration serves as a prime example of how conventional fastening technology is transforming into an intelligent building block for modern smart buildings and intelligent infrastructures.

BIM Services and Digital Design Software
For the design and planning phase, fischer provides comprehensive Revit BIM libraries for MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) installation systems, heavy-duty applications, and CFRP (carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer) strengthening systems. Also featured at BIM World is the fischer FiXperience design software suite. A particular highlight is the REINFORCE-FIX module, engineered for designing structural strengthening solutions in existing buildings. Planners and contractors benefit from consistent, reliable data models – from initial preliminary dimensioning all the way into the operational lifecycle.

Baubot: The Automated Construction Site
Visitors to the fischer booth will also experience firsthand how digital planning data is translated into reality without media disruption and in a fully automated manner: The Baubot construction robot for large-scale projects converts design data directly from the digital building model into precise, automated drill holes – showcasing the state of the art in forward-looking construction robotics.
