In furniture making and interior construction, precision, efficiency and permanently secure connections determine project success. fischer offers a wide range of chipboard screws perfectly matched to the requirements of modern woodworking. Highlights include the versatile screw innovation fischer PowerFast II and the FAFS adjusting screw, which makes continuously adjustable distance fixing faster, easier and more precise.
Whether fastening and pulling together wooden elements, installing panels, skirting boards or door and furniture fittings – modern chipboard screws ensure fast, clean installation, reduce splitting and provide stable, load-bearing connections between chipboard and other wood-based materials. A wide variety of designs and sizes covers numerous applications in furniture making and interior construction. The European Technical Assessment (ETA) provides additional safety in use.
PowerFast II: One screw, many applications
PowerFast II is ideal for use in softwood and hardwood as well as various panel materials, for small edge distances or when used with metal fittings. The chipboard screw is suitable for all wood-to-wood and wood-to-metal connections and is also approved for tested loads in fischer plastic anchors such as DuoPower. This makes PowerFast II suitable for use in load-bearing timber constructions, connecting solid wood components (softwood and hardwood), glued laminated timber, cross-laminated timber, laminated veneer lumber and similar engineered wood components, as well as wood-based panels. It is equally suitable for fastening metal fittings, angles, joist hangers and other components to wood. The flexibility of fischer PowerFast II therefore goes far beyond the application range of conventional chipboard screws.
Engineered from head to tip
PowerFast II impresses with well-thought-out technology: the screw tip with three ribs ensures fast bite, pre-milling and reduced splitting. Core milling geometry, shaft milling ribs and an increased thread pitch significantly reduce driving resistance and enable clean installation, even with small edge and axial distances – saving effort, reducing installation time and protecting battery power. A chromium-VI-free electro-galvanised coating and a high-performance wax coating also support efficient and environmentally responsible work. In addition, the optimised bit-change system for diameters from Ø3.0 to 6.0 mm reduces the number of bits required to just two. A further visual and tactile advantage is the special double-cone under-head geometry with milling pockets, which prevents torn wood surfaces and damage to metal components. Different head types – countersunk, raised countersunk and pan head – as well as numerous sizes, drives and thread variants ensure maximum flexibility.
FAFS: Distance fixing made easy
Another smart helper for interior construction is the fischer FAFS adjusting screw with ETA. It accelerates, simplifies and precisely controls continuously adjustable distance fixing, for example in wooden substructures for wall and ceiling cladding. Thanks to a clever clip mechanism, battens and other attached components can be aligned precisely and unevenness easily compensated. The screw head remains cleanly flush with the surface in the correct position. FAFS is removable and highly versatile. For installation, simply attach the setting tool to the bit and screw the adjusting screw flush into the component. The distance to the component can then be adjusted easily by changing the direction of rotation with the bit – without any additional setting tool.
With these solutions, fischer offers powerful, flexible and economical screw systems that reliably meet the growing demands of furniture making and interior construction.
