The fourth International Expert Forum (IEF) of the fischer Group of Companies took place on 6 October 2025 in Riyadh. The event, which was held in Saudi Arabia for the first time, brought together leading contractors, engineers, consultants and decision-makers from the construction industry and focused on the future of the construction sector.

The forum was opened by Omar Mohammad, responsible for fischer's business activities in Saudi Arabia, who warmly welcomed the guests. Dr Ronald Mihala, Managing Director of Research and Development at the family-owned company, then spoke about the long history of the fischer Group of Companies and emphasised the central role of innovation as a driver of sustainable growth and technological progress.

Gürol Sevim, Managing Director of the company's Middle East sales region, presented regional success stories. He showcased the use of fischer products and services in major projects in the Gulf region.

Another highlight of the forum was the presentation by Prof. Konrad Bergmeister, Head of the Institute of Structural Engineering at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. He highlighted current trends and technologies that will bring about lasting change in the construction industry. In a subsequent panel discussion, industry experts exchanged views on the challenges involved in planning and implementing modern construction projects. The discussion was moderated by Osama Farhat, National Sales Manager at fischer in Saudi Arabia.

fischer experts Tinu Thomas, Mohamed Bakr and Emil Blum presented innovative solutions in the field of Structural Retrofitting to the participants and showcased the comprehensive product and service portfolio of the fastening expert from the northern Black Forest.

At the end of the event, Gürol Sevim thanked all participants for the inspiring exchange and drew a positive conclusion: ‘Saudi Arabia is leading the transformation of the construction landscape. Through the IEF, we are proud to contribute our expertise and share knowledge to empower the Kingdom’s future projects’.
