For demonstrable safety in the event of a fire, fischer offers products and systems for pipe support and conduit installations (MLAR, R30 – R120 or F30 – F120 and ETA 21/0140). fischer fix points and sliding elements accommodate thermally-induced pipe expansion in light to heavy pipe systems.

Significant deformation can occur on channel constructions when exposed to fire. This could lead to serious consequences such as the system failure of the suspended ceilings below, exposing the escape and rescue routes to smoke and fire. Fire-tested products and systems by fischer can be used to lay pipe supports and conduit installations for escape and rescue routes. That can save lives in the event of a fire.

Fire-tested products and systems by fischer for technical building equipment applications have been appraised by experts. The fire protection test reports comply with the national fire protection criteria of the Building Regulations and the German Federal Guideline for Conduits (LAR) based on MLAR 2015 (German guidelines on conduits 2015), which stipulates personal protection through clear regulations for escape and rescue routes. At its core, it entails ensuring the functionality of the suspended ceiling for fire protection purposes. This requires a minimum distance (min a) of 50 mm between conduit installations and the suspended ceiling F30 (fire resistance duration of 30 minutes). The fire tests therefore determine load specifications for a fire resistance duration of 30 minutes in relation to the maximum permissible deformation of channels or pipe clamps, for instance. These assessments are necessary due to the properties of steel, which is exposed to temperatures of > 800 °C for 30 minutes according to the standard temperature curve. This same information is documented in the test reports for a fire-resistance rating of R30, R60 and R120 as per EN 1363-1/F30, F60, F90 and F120 under DIN 4102-2.

Pipe clamps, sliding elements, channels and cantilever arms by the fixing expert are all documented by expert reports. The spectrum includes the FUS (fischer universal channel system) with its FUS 41 and FUS 62 channels. The system is designed for fastening medium to heavy conduits and offers advantages including push-through connections for the channels, preassembled connecting and construction elements in addition to multifunctional components. The FLS 37 channel has also been tested for fire resistance as a base element of the FLS (fischer light channel system) for fastening lightweight loads using the simple ‘Clix’ mechanism. FCA 41 and 62 (FUS profile) and ALK 37 (FLS profile) cantilever arms also guarantee proven stability under the influence of temperature and are fastened directly to the substrate, enabling installations along walls. In addition to this, the fire-tested PUWF mounting bracket of the FUS can be used as a connection to the substrate and as an angle connection. Together with the fischer PCFN 41 push-through connector, the PUWF slots into the channel with a 90° rotation.

Sound-insulated (DIN 4109) pipe clamps also come with fire protection reports for objective functional safety tests. These pipe clamps include FRS and the lightweight FRS-L Universal. With two screws for optimum adaptation to the outer diameter of the pipe and M8/M10 combi connection threads, these pipe clamps provided added flexibility on the construction site. Pipes with an outer diameter of 12 - 168 mm (FRS) and 8 - 119 mm (FRS-L) can therefore be securely fastened with threaded rods or hanger bolts in accordance with fire protection requirements (MLAR, R120).

Additional safety is provided by the verified fire protection of the FASM2 slide connector and the FASH2 roll connector to accommodate the expansion of medium (FASM2) to heavy (FASH2) pipes with single or double brackets and metric combi connection threads M10/M12 (FASM2) or M12/M16 (FASH2). They offer a flexible range of applications as vertical or suspended connectors and can also be used as a guide bearing on vertical pipelines. The SB sliding hanger and PDH K M10 / M12 pendulum hanger also offer verified fire protection to accommodate changes in pipe lengths.

A European Technical Assessment (ETA) provides additional assurance, certifying that the fischer FUS channel is suitable for use under fire exposure according to stringent requirements. This ETA 21/0140 is based on the European Assessment Document (EAD) 280016-00-0602 for pipe support systems.

fischer’s fix points and sliding elements ensure that pipes remain intact even in high system temperatures and large-scale installations. A wide range of products provides suitable solutions for various requirements and applications.

In addition to numerous other services, the company also supports its customers with fire protection services to ensure optimal planning.
