Why fischer includes external perspectives
For two days, the fischer sustainability team led by division head Christian Ziegler faced the critical questions and comments of the 26 stakeholders. Every two years, the company invites this dialogue, which is deliberately allowed to be uncomfortable. „We gain valuable impulses for our strategic development through this“, explains Christian Ziegler about the meeting in the Northern Black Forest.
Actively living sustainability: Culture and strategy in focus
The central question of the dialogue was: How can the increasing legal and societal requirements in the area of sustainability be met while simultaneously embedding the topic even more deeply into the corporate culture?

Four workshops on ecological, social, and economic challenges
To develop concrete courses of action for the future, the participants dedicated themselves to four thematic workshops. These dealt with the central areas of tension and conflicting goals that industrial companies are currently facing in the context of sustainability.
Participants of the first workshop focused on product development, marketing, and communication with an emphasis on sustainability.
In the second workshop, aspects related to supply chain and governance were exchanged.
Participants of the third workshop dealt with the topic of personnel and its further development. In the fourth workshop, measures for climate protection were exchanged and discussed.

Sustainability arises where ecology, economy, and social aspects come together. The success of a strategy is not decided on paper, but by the people who bring it to life every day.
Julia Eckey, Managing Director of the nationwide network Klimaschutz-Unternehmen e. V., emphasized the strategic importance of the meeting:
„The fischer Stakeholder Dialogue has once again demonstrated how sustainability can strategically contribute to business success. Quality and sustainability go hand in hand here! This builds trust – both with customers and with us as stakeholders. Klimaschutz-Unternehmen will gladly continue to support this path in the future.“
Christian Ziegler, Head of Sustainability, Environment and Energy at fischer, also gave a positive assessment for the Tumlingen location and the entire corporate group: „The constructive-critical perspective from outside is indispensable for us. It helps us to sharpen our focus and continuously improve.“
