fisco can look back on a successful debut at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit. For the first time, the fibre composite pioneer presented a selection of its system solutions for innovative infrastructure applications worldwide to the international specialist audience of the global mobility congress for local public transport—receiving consistently positive feedback.

“The UITP Summit was very successful for us,” summarises Günther Hirt, Managing Director of fisco GmbH. “We greatly appreciated the intensive and inspiring exchange with numerous international players from the mobility industry about industry trends and our fibre composite innovations in the infrastructure sector. From the many discussions and encounters, we will take away valuable new contacts, ideas, and follow-up activities to continue shaping the mobility of tomorrow together.”

All aboard, please: ramp systems for accessibility
fisco GmbH attracted considerable attention at the congress exhibition with its modular ramp systems made of fibre composite material. International interest in these system solutions for barrier-free train and bus stops was very high, especially from Europe. Numerous trade visitors also took part in the guided tour on the topic of “Inclusive Mobility,” on which the fisco booth was a stop. The tour participants were able to see firsthand the benefits of fisco ramp systems for accessibility in the infrastructure sector.

The fisco ramp systems compensate for height differences and gaps between the edge of the platform and the vehicle—a decisive contribution to barrier-free use of local public transport. This guarantees people with limited mobility safe, independent, and convenient access to and from underground, suburban railway, tram and bus services. Made of glass fibre composite material, the systems score points for accessibility, durability, resilience and functionality through flexible and efficient use. The modular principle allows the ramps to be easily adapted to different structural conditions, customer and project requirements and user needs—quickly and efficiently. The ramps are certified as barrier-free in accordance with DIN 18040 and meet building material class Bfl-s1 in accordance with DIN EN 13501-1 (low flammability with low smoke development).

Brand new innovation for infrastructure buildings: fi:resist
Another highlight at the fisco booth was the FiRe construction profiles made from fi:resist —genuine pioneering solutions that the fibre composite expert produces in large series using the endless strand drawing process (pultrusion). The self-developed, fully inorganic glass fibre composite material is characterised in particular by its fire resistance, with A1 certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13501. This means that fi:resist meets the fire protection regulations for tunnels and is widely used in railway infrastructure, among other applications—as the first glass fibre composite material ever. In addition to its non-combustibility, fi:resist offers further application benefits: the material is lightweight, stable, mechanically highly resilient, heat- and corrosion-resistant, UV-resistant, electrically non-conductive, permeable to radio signals, and has low thermal conductivity—an all-rounder for sensitive infrastructure areas. Since March 2025, fi:resist superstructures, such as platforms, walkways in the track area, railings, and handrails, have been approved by the German Federal Railway Authority (EBA)—an important prerequisite for the German market and a strong signal for international recognition.

Close to customers worldwide
“We are delighted that, in addition to our system solutions, our comprehensive services were also very well received at the UITP Summit,” summarises Günther Hirt. “We provide personal and professional support for the successful use of our fibre composite systems worldwide—from the initial idea, through development and production, to on-site support and successful project completion.”

As part of the fischer group of companies, fisco GmbH also offers complete solutions for railway infrastructure, including fischer fixing technology. 50 operational fischer companies worldwide ensure even closer proximity to customers.
