For over ten years, the multiple award-winning supplier company, fischer automotive systems Co. Ltd., has produced kinematic products for large automotive manufacturers in the Chinese market, such as Mitsubishi, SAIC, Audi, GM and SGM. The production volume of ventilation nozzles, cup holders and storage compartments amounts to around two million parts per year. From the traffic-friendly, easy-to-reach location in Taicang, near Shanghai, fischer automotive systems supplies its products to automotive manufacturers throughout China. The new build and the associated expansion of production capacities was made possible by the increasing numbers of orders and customer requirements .

The production building was moved into in February 2018. “With the new building, we are bringing our international production capacities to a new level. At the same time, we are highlighting the importance of the Chinese market for fischer automotive systems”, says Rudolf Kaiser, spokesperson for the management board of fischer automotive systems.

On the 18,500 square metre piece of land near Shanghai, a new production building and new logistics, administration and social areas were built. The production hall has a gross built-up area of 8,830 square metres and a capacity of around 92,000 cubic metres. Up to 350 employees can work in the new building complex. Sustainability and energy efficiency played a major role in the construction process. The production hall is therefore cooled and heated using a geothermal system.

When arranging the production facilities, particular importance was placed on an efficient restructuring of the production process in accordance with the lean principles. The highest priority was short walkways and set-up times as well as the consistent standardisation of tools, systems and other technical facilities. fischer Consulting, the consultation company of the fischer group of companies, provided support during the designing of the processes.

The arrangement of the machinery in the production plant in Taicang matches the parent company in Horb am Necker/Germany and fits seamlessly into the highly modern, global production concept of the automotive supplier.

fischer automotive systems has thereby laid the best foundations for promoting its digital transformation and further implementing Industry 4.0 within the company.

The fischer site in China has already won several awards: In 2014, 2015 and 2017, fischer automotive systems Co. Ltd. received the GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award from General Motors. It was awarded for the best quality and supply service. fischer achieved a rate of zero ppm (parts per million), thereby causing no faulty deliveries.
